THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) — There are currently 280 affordable housing units available in the Bronx through NYC Housing Connect, but officials already have plans to provide more options in the near future.

On Tuesday, officials celebrated the groundbreaking of Starhill Phase II, which will complete the Starhill campus located at 1600 Grand Avenue.

The new project will create 244 affordable apartments, including 74 supportive housing units for formerly homeless individuals and families.

Starhill Phase II will also create a 10,000 square foot space to be used by a community facility tenant and 11,500 square feet of publicly accessible open space for the Morris Heights community.

A representative from Services for the UnderServed told PIX11 News that the 244 units in Phase II won’t hit the housing lottery until early to mid 2026.
