Yankees trading top prospects reportedly not 'entirely off the table'

With the MLB trade deadline just a week away, the New York Yankees seem to be considering all options.

While they would prefer to keep their top prospects — Jasson Dominguez and Spencer Jones — in the organization, it appears they are willing to include them in a trade if it means getting a haul.

According to Jeff Passan of ESPN , the top prospects for the Yankees reportedly "aren't entirely off the table" even if chances of moving them are slim.

An earlier report this month stated the Yankees have "no desire" to move Dominguez in a deal and while they likely feel the same about Jones, they reportedly would be willing to move him in a deal that lands an elite starter like Garrett Crochet or Tarik Skubal.

Where the Yankees will stand on this issue in a week will be interesting, but they certainly need to make some type of move considering their epic decline over the last month.

Only the Chicago White Sox (8-22) have a worse record than the Yankees (10-20) over the last 30 games.

Needing to make an impression on Juan Soto enough to keep him around this offseason, it would behoove the Yankees to fortify their biggest needs in the infield and the bullpen.

Whether that means parting ways with some highly touted prospects remains to be seen, but it's something to now keep an eye on.
