What position will Jazz Chisholm play after trade to Yankees?

The New York Yankees made their first big move ahead of the MLB trade deadline, acquiring Jazz Chisholm from the Miami Marlins on Saturday.

Chisholm and the Yankees have been linked for the better part of July and one of the main questions has been where the 26-year-old will play.

According to Jon Heyman of The New York Post , the Yankees have yet to make a decision on where Chisholm will spend most of his time defensively.

With Aaron Judge manning centerfield, Chisholm may need to move back to second base — a position he recently got more work at ahead of the trade.

While the Yankees could put Chisholm in centerfield when they want to give Judge a half-day off at DH, it seems they may be considering him at second base.

If that's the case, the Yankees will have a logjam with Gleyber Torres still on the roster for the remainder of the season.

Neither Torres nor Chisholm has experience playing third base, which is arguably the team's biggest need.

That is unless Torres is on the block to be traded before the July 30 deadline, but there haven't been any reports of that as of this writing.

Chisholm can serve as a solid second baseman for the Yankees if he's playing every day over Torres, but it's more what he provides with his bat at the top of the lineup that might give the Yankees more consistency.

We'll see what the Yankees ultimately choose when it comes to Chisholm's position, but they'll be more interested in taking over the leadoff spot.
