A notable Yankees infield target won’t be calling The Bronx home.

Cardinals utilityman Tommy Edman, in whom the Bronx Bombers had interest, has been traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in a three-team deal, The Post’s Jon Heyman confirmed .

The Post’s Joel Sherman noted that the Yankees considered sending starter Nestor Cortes to St. Louis in exchange for the versatile Edman, but that the Cardinals instead wanted the White Sox’s Erick Fedde.

Edman, 29, has yet to play in a game this year but was on a minor-league rehab assignment to recover from wrist surgery, not to mention a sprained ankle.

Having played in 290 contests in the two seasons before, Edman provided defensive value in his ability to play second, short, third and even the outfield.

The switch hitter’s 7.8 wins above replacement ranked 20th in the National League in that span, per Fangraphs.

Although the Yankees appear to be trying the newly acquired Jazz Chisholm Jr. at third base , Edman could have made for a more natural upgrade at the position, or even allowed pending free agent Gleyber Torres to be made available.

Instead, Edman will join a Dodgers squad that leads the NL West by 6 ½ games but is currently without Mookie Betts , who has played primarily shortstop and second base in 2024.

Beyond just adding Edman, Los Angeles also received hard-throwing White Sox reliever Michael Kopech.

On the other end of the three-pronged deal, St. Louis added one of the better remaining starters on the market in Fedde.

The 31-year-old has posted a resurgent season in his return to the Major Leagues from the KBO.

The righty has accrued a 3.11 ERA with a 3.76 fielding-independent pitching mark in 21 starts for the White Sox, while ranking second in the AL with 4.6 wins above replacement.

Fedde will slot next to Sonny Gray, Lance Lynn and Kyle Gibson in a Cardinals rotation that ranks 23rd in starters’ ERA.

St. Louis will also reunite with outfielder Tommy Pham, who slashed .266/.330/.380 with a 102 OPS+ in his first season with Chicago.

Pham, 36, played his first five seasons in St. Louis.

Meanwhile, the lowly White Sox — with only 27 wins through their first 108 games — will get back Dodgers infielder Miguel Vargas, plus prospects Jeral Perez and Alexander Albertus.

Vargas, 24, has amassed a 108 weighted runs created plus mark (where 100 is average) in only 30 games for the Dodgers this year, playing mostly left field.

The move seems to improve the weaknesses of the Dodgers — still one of the foremost World Series contenders — and the Cardinals — who sit just one game back of the NL’s final wild-card spot — while simultaneously enabling the White Sox to bolster their farm system.
