The New York Yankees have a few hours until the MLB trade deadline arrives, and they have their sights set on a certain Miami Marlins star.

Though the Yankees already made one trade for a Marlins star — Jazz Chisholm — it seems they are in the mix to land star closer Tanner Scott.

According to Jim Bowden of The Athletic , the Yankees are among the finalists to land the explosive lefty reliever.

Bowden also mentioned the Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox and Kansas City Royals as the other finalists in the running for Scott.

Despite his high walk rate, Scott brings an electric profile as a late-innings reliever. He would alleviate some of the pressure off Clay Holmes, whose seven blown saves this season are tied for the most in MLB.

Not only does Scott induce soft contact, but he also has swing-and-miss stuff. The latter trait is something the Yankees desperately need in the bullpen.

    The first-time All-Star has a 1.18 ERA in 45.2 innings to go along with 53 strikeouts, 27 walks and a 1.007 WHIP.

Since the start of May, Scott has allowed just two earned runs and an incredible .105 batting average against to go along with a 0.55 ERA.

Adding Scott to the bullpen would give the Yankees a much-better chance at making a run for the top spot in the American League East so we'll see what happens.
