Yankees' Midseason Addition Makes Insane MLB History

The New York Yankees acquired former Miami Marlins star Jazz Chisholm Jr. at the trade deadline, and some observers expected the star to have an adjustment period, as he’ll be playing in a new position after playing in the outfield for quite some time.

Three games in, and Chisholm is already making an impact—and then some. The Yankees third baseman hit two home runs against the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday night.

This is now the second game where Chisholm has hit two home runs for the Yankees, and the first time that a new player has done that for any franchise. Additionally, per Sarah Langs of the MLB, Chisholm is the second player to hit four homers in his first three games with a team, following Trevor Story in 2016.

"Chisholm is the first with 2 multi-HR games in his first 3 games with ANY franchise," Langs wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Chisholm is making some big adjustments for the Yankees with his arrival. In the last few years, he has played in the outfield for the most part. Even when he was an infielder for the Marlines, he played second base.

The sample size is small, but Chisholm is already a big addition to the Yankees. If he can continue this consistent streak, New York will have a much stronger chance at reclaiming the AL East title.
