The final two months of the Major League Baseball season are vital for the New York Yankees and their efforts to re-sign superstar Juan Soto.

The 25-year-old has made it clear he's going to hit free agency so he can test the market with the desire to sign a long-term deal with a team that has the chance to win multiple championships.

While Soto's presence increases the chances of any team's ability to hoist the Commissioner's Trophy at the end of the season, the Yankees were predicted to re-sign Soto by Zachary D. Rymer of Bleacher Report .

He also mentioned the other teams who will likely be in contention to sign the generational talent.

"Though other teams such as the Rangers, Nationals, Giants and Toronto Blue Jays have been floated as fits for Soto, his free agency seems destined to be a New York-based battle between the Yankees and Mets," Rymer wrote.

The Mets may have put on the best show against Soto and the Yankees this season. They swept both two-game series in a big way, outscoring the Yankees 36-15 while torching Gerrit Cole twice.

Rymer predicts the Yankees will re-sign Soto to a 15-year deal worth $550 million, which comes out to $34.7 million per season.

Soto is hitting .309 with 27 home runs, 77 RBI, 89 walks and a 1.030 OPS.

It should make for an interesting offseason, but The Bronx might burn if Soto heads to Queens.
