Police: Garden tool, meat cleaver used in stabbing on Lower East Side
A garden tool with prongs, a meat cleaver, and a box cutter were all used in a fight on the Lower East Side.Police say two men used the weapons on each other when they got into a dispute on Saturday around 6 p.m. near Madison and Catherine Streets.One of the men was stabbed in the eye. Listeria outbreak sickens at least 12 in New York
NEW YORK – At least a dozen cases of listeria have been reported across New York state in connection to a national outbreak linked to deli meat.The state Health Department said four of those cases were in New York City, two were in Suffolk County and one was in Nassau County. The remaining five cases were located in Cayuga, Dutchess, Greene, Onondaga and Oswego counties.All 12 patients had to be hospitalized.
