The Yankees could solve lead-off and first base with one trade
The Yankees have been in talks with the Tampa Bay Rays ahead of the deadline regarding multiple players. In a perfect world, the Yankees would be able to pry Isaac Paredes away from their AL East division rival, but they may end up settling for an option like Yandy Diaz.
The Yankees reportedly had questions about Jazz Chisholm’s fit in locker room before trade
The New York Yankees made a big swing on Saturday by reportedly trading for Miami Marlins center fielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. in exchange for a handful of prospects. Chisholm is the kind of splashy addition that a World Series contender like New York makes this time of year to bolster their lineup, and he’ll certainly make the Yankees better on paper at the batter’s plate and in the center field. However, it’s very possible that there’s internal risk-taking with the transaction. ESPN’s Jorge Castillo reported on July 24 that New York has some questions about how Chisholm will gel with the Yankees locker...
Don't expect the Yankees to take their foot off the trade-deadline gas pedal
The Yankees swung a major trade earlier Saturday when they acquired second baseman and center fielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. from the Marlins in exchange for a three-prospect package. The addition of Chisholm helps to address an offense that has struggled to produce when anyone other than Juan Soto or Aaron Judge is at the plate, but Joel Sherman of the New York Post wrote in the aftermath of the Chisholm trade that the club plans to continue being aggressive on the trade market as they look to return to the postseason after missing for the first time since 2016 last year.

Today on Pinstripe Alley - 7/27/24
Right now, the Yankees are the team that finds a way to lose. They wasted a great rally last night, with Luke Weaver and Clay Holmes coughing up a three-run lead in painfully predictable fashion. I will strain to be optimistic, and point out that truly bad teams don’t actually find ways to lose in heartbreaking fashion; they just get blown out all the time. The Yankees haven’t been getting crushed lately, with a positive run differential to their name over the last few weeks, but they’ve been hemorrhaging games all the same. Maybe their luck will start to soon, or maybe they’ll just continue to bleed out.
