I will strain to be optimistic, and point out that truly bad teams don’t actually find ways to lose in heartbreaking fashion; they just get blown out all the time. The Yankees haven’t been getting crushed lately, with a positive run differential to their name over the last few weeks, but they’ve been hemorrhaging games all the same. Maybe their luck will start to soon, or maybe they’ll just continue to bleed out.
