Trap Shooter RJ Gropp wins State Title
Moves on to the Champion of Champions championship held in Sparta, Illinois. Berlin trap shooter RJ Gropp wins the Wisconsin Singles Championship for his category (Junior, ages 15-18) hitting 198 of 200 clay targets and will again represent the State of Wisconsin for the fourth time in the last 5 years in the Champion of Champions Event at the World Trapshooting Championships held at The Amateur Trap Shooting Association (ATA) Grand American World Shooting and Recreational Complex in Sparta, IL.
More layoffs at freight-related firms: 607 workers cut across 4 states
Layoffs continue across the commercial transportation and freight industry, according to a new round of worker reduction notices in Florida, Texas, Illinois and Wisconsin. It is the second round of layoffs since the beginning of July. Averitt Express, Bath & Body Works Logistics Services, ShipBob, and Henry Avocado Corp. announced a total of 218 layoffs earlier in the month.

The Milwaukee Brewers bullpen received a significant boost with the recent return of standout middle relief pitcher Jared Koenig. Koenig is the first of several key pitchers to return from the injured list for the National League Central Division-leading Brewers, who currently maintain a 59-43 overall record (.578 winning percentage), 16 games above .500, and six ahead of the second-place St. Louis Cardinals.

The husband-and-wife team of Maurice 'Moe' and Yashica Spears Wince hope to bring healthy food options to one of Milwaukee’s food deserts with their Sherman Park Grocery. Located in West Milwaukee, Sherman Park Grocery is the only full-scale, Black-owned grocery store in Wisconsin. Co-owners Maurice “Moe” and Yashica Spears Wince founded the grocery store to meet the community’s needs, home to nearly 80% of Black residents.
