GRANVILLE, W.Va. — The West Virginia Black Bears and the Trenton Thunder battled it out in Sunday's rubber match at Kendrick Family Ballpark, with the Thunder snatching game three and the series with a final score of 7-3. Bradley Riffee, the executive director of the United Way of Harrison and Doddridge Counties posted on social media that he is stepping down from the position next month. His last day with the agency is August 19.

Prickett’s Fort celebrates 250 year’s since original fort was built
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - Prickett’s Fort State Park has served as a time capsule in the local area for year’s. The historical park commemorates late 18th century Virginian frontier life; and serves as a living history museum of what life was like on the original fort, built in 1774. Glen William’s, a Navy Veteran, will be leading a discussion on the politics and economy during the early settlers time. It’s been over 250 years since Jacob Prickett ordered the construction of the fort, and park officials like, Greg Bray, saw this as an opportunity to celebrate and educate the community on the impactful event.

Harmar Days Festival continues to grow annually
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - This weekend, the annual Harmar Days Festival was held as they continue to raise funding for the historic Harmar Bridge. The festival is reported to have raised around $23,000 excluding the raffle which raised an additional $20,000. This money will go towards the historic Harmar Bridge.
