One More Day of Heat Wave
The heat wave will last one more day before we get a break in the high temperatures. A heat advisory will be in effect for southeast Kansas, most of Oklahoma, southern Missouri and all of Arkansas today. The advisories start between 11 and 1 p.m. and will last until 8 p.m. Coffeyville is expected to see a high of 99 with a heat index up to 109 today.

Arkansas freshman commit Gabe Fraser will attend school to play for the baseball program, he announced in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday night. Fraser was named the Trinity League's Co-MVP while helping lead Orange Lutheran High School (Calif.) to a state title. Suspect Arrested in Brookland After SWAT Makes Entry
BROOKLAND, Ark. — A large law enforcement presence was reported this morning in Brookland as officers attempt to locate and arrest a suspect with a warrant. According to Chief Deputy Justin Rolland with the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office, Brookland officers had taken a suspect into custody on a warrant. Apparently, the suspect escaped and ran into a house near the corner of Holman and School Street in Brookland.
