Arkansas Game & Fish award goes to officer who rescued girl from Mississippi River
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — An Arkansas Game and Fish Officer was named Officer of the Year after he rescued a girl from the Mississippi River. Officer Austin Powell and Game Warden Aaron Dillard pulled a girl out of the river as it was sweeping her downstream. They got her into a boat and safely to shore.

(The Center Square) - Gas prices increased in Arkansas this week as crude oil prices rebounded, AAA said Thursday. The average cost of gas statewide rose six cents from last week to $3.13 a gallon, AAA said. Arkansas airports awarded $10.5M in federal grants
BENTONVILLE, Ark. — The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded nearly $10.5 million in grants for improvements at airports across Arkansas. The largest grant went to Northwest Arkansas National Airport, which received $3.89 million to reconstruct an air traffic control tower. Texarkana Regional Airport and Z.M. Jack Stell Field in Crossett each received grants of more than $1 million.
