A New York-based ramen chain is expanding to Massachusetts. Led by franchisee Zheng Jun ‘Charles’ Liu , Kyuramen will soon open in Brookline at 1006 Beacon St , Unit F .

In addition to the Brookline restaurant, Liu confirmed that a second Kyuramen location is in the works in Winchester . However, the franchisee and the exact location for that spot are still unidentified at this time.

Liu told What Now Boston that he hopes to open his Brookline store by May 2024, but emphasized that several inspections are still pending before the launch. He revealed that the restaurant’s development has been underway for approximately two years, due to city regulations and processes.

Despite the long wait, Liu expressed optimism about opening before the Winchester location, stating, “We will be the first one.”

Founded by Gary Lin in 2014, Kyuramen was originally established with the aim of making ramen an affordable daily meal accessible to the working class and student populations. Since its inception, the franchise has grown to over 30 locations nationwide.

Kyuramen prides itself on its meticulously crafted ramen, prepared by skilled “ramen masters.” Each bowl features fresh Japanese-style pork roast, a perfectly boiled seven-minute egg, and finely chopped green onions, all served atop a flavorful soup base.

Beyond its signature ramen, Kyuramen offers a diverse menu of Japanese-inspired appetizers, desserts, and omurice (Japanese omelet rice), as well as rice and ramen burgers.

Keep an eye out for more details on the upcoming Winchester Kyuramen location as further information becomes available.
