While performing at the Faster Horses Festival in Brooklyn, Michigan, Jelly Roll brought out two special guests to help him out. For an assist on his Lainey Wilson collaboration “Save Me,” he brought out emerging country artist Anne Wilson.
Anne, who comes from the contemporary Christian genre, used her powerful vocal styling to emphasize the message in “Save Me,” which is one of hope and perseverance. The crowd at Faster Horses was incredibly receptive of the up-and-comer, who has recently seen an increase in fans and listeners. Possibly the most exciting moment, though, was having Lainey Wilson approve of Anne’s performance during her parts of the song.
Lainey commented on a TikTok video of Anne’s rendition, noting their shared last name. “My Wilson girl,” she wrote. “Love you. Keep on shining that LIGHT like you do.”
According to the video, posted by Anne, she received a last-minute phone call from Jelly Roll, asking her to perform with him. She showed the backstage rush as she got ready, then shared a clip of the performance where the audience met her with cheers of support.

Jelly Roll Brings Out Up-And-Comer Anne Wilson, Best Buddy Cody Johnson at Faster Horses Festival
In addition to Anne Wilson, Jelly Roll also brought out his buddy Cody Johnson. Jelly has often sung Johnson’s praises during award shows and in social media posts, highlighting their real-life friendship. Now, they performed together during the festival as well.
They sang “Son of a Sinner” on stage together, after Johnson revealed that Jelly Roll invited him on stage five minutes before his set. In a fan-captured video, Johnson is seen laughing with his friend as he recalls the moment.
At one point, Jelly Roll paused to describe Cody Johnson as “one of my best friends in the world,” further cementing the two as true friendship goals. The crowd eventually took over the final chorus of the song, singing along enthusiastically. Additionally, the two sang their collaboration, “Whiskey Bent,” which appears on Johnson’s recent album, Leather.
Johnson has also shared his love for Jelly Roll. In June, when the two were both scheduled to perform at the Grand Ole Opry, Johnson wrote on social media, “I’m the peanut butter, he’s the Jelly.”
