In a recent article published by Eater , it was revealed that Oxalis , a beloved Prospect Heights establishment with a Michelin Star, closed its doors in 2023 after a successful five-year run. However, fans of the restaurant need not despair, as the team behind Oxalis, Redwood Hospitality Group , is actively searching for a larger space to relaunch their original concept.

Redwood is also opening two new businesses, one of which, Laurel Bakery , is set to open in late March at 115 Columbia Street. The location is in the heart of the Columbia Street Waterfront District.

While the menu hasn’t been finalized, a representative confirmed there will be excellent viennoiserie, as well as a variety of quality breads. They also added that Laurel Bakery Chef Nico Russell is a fougasse enthusiast, partly from his time spent in the South of France—so that is sure to be a menu highlight.

With this and another development in the pipeline — an all-day café set to open at the original Oxalis location — it’s evident that Redwood, also the team behind Clinton Hill’s Place des Fêtes , remains dedicated to providing exceptional culinary experiences to the Brooklyn community.
