NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A Brooklyn man was indicted on Thursday on assault charges related to a two-hour assault spree in Midtown earlier this month that left four victims injured by scalding hot liquid.

The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office said that Larry Martin, 42, was indicted on four counts of first-degree attempt to commit the crime of assault and four counts of second-degree assault, both of which are felonies.

On March 6, at about 7:10 a.m., Martin allegedly lunged at his first victim and threw burning liquid down the back of his head, injuring his neck. The attack occurred at East 44th Street and Lexington Avenue, court documents and statements said.

Just over half an hour later, at 7:46 a.m., Martin allegedly threw scalding liquid on the side of a second victim’s face near West 56th Street and Sixth Avenue, which caused her burns and hearing loss.

The third attack happened at 8:15 a.m. at West 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue when Martin allegedly lifted his hand and poured hot liquid from a cup onto the right side of a third victim’s face, burning her.

Finally, not even 30 minutes later, Martin allegedly completed the assault pattern by pouring scalding hot liquid on a fourth victim’s chest and hand and burning them before walking toward Eighth Avenue.

Officials did not specify what the liquid was.

According to police, the second victim was a 49-year-old woman, the third victim was a 45-year-old woman and the final victim was 27-years-old.

Court records show that Martin pleaded not guilty, and despite a bail request from his attorney, was remanded without bail.

Martin is expected back in court on May 6.
