Horror video shows elderly pedestrian decapitated by passing truck

New disturbing footage shows the moment a city truck made contact with an elderly man in New York and began to slowly sever his head off his shoulders.

The 86-year-old victim was seen cautiously crossing a Brooklyn roadway in surveillance footage that has been making the rounds online. Just as he was about to cross, another automobile made a left turn, just avoiding him before the NYC Department of Transportation truck arrived.

The enormous yellow transportation truck begins to turn right, straight into the path of the elderly man, who is waiting for that automobile to pass before crossing the street.

It seems like the entire scene is playing out in slow motion, and the truck driver may not have even noticed the old man because it neither slowed down nor stopped after hitting him. Rather, the car simply rolls straight over him, leaving the body in its wake. Although the decapitation is not very evident in the video, other videos showing different angles leads the public to believe that the poor man's head was severed as a result of the tragedy.

Following the accident, a man wearing a work vest, who is most likely the driver, was also seen on camera buckling and kneeling on the ground, looking utterly distraught. The investigation is still ongoing and no one has been taken into custody. The old man was recognized as a local who lived close by.

Brooklyn was subject to a police investigation earlier this year when a taped-off freezer was found to contain a man's decapitated head and dismembered body inside. Police and law enforcement officials stated that a woman residing in the apartment was being held on unrelated warrants.

Following a tip from CrimeStoppers regarding a potential body being "stored" at the address, police discovered an unsettling sight at approximately 6:15 a.m. when they arrived at the fourth-floor apartment on Nostrand Avenue close to Farragut Road in Flatbush, NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said on Tuesday.

“During the course of patrol’s investigation, they came across some body parts in the freezer,” Kenny told reporters. “At this point, we’re trying to identify that person.”

According to sources, the refrigerator was taped shut to keep the bones' stench from escaping. “We have a head. We have some limbs,” Kenny said. “As of right now, it seems like we have the whole body.” According to Kenny, she "complained of illness" and was admitted to the hospital.

Kenny said the investigators were unable to speak with her right away because she was still in the hospital.
