The 65-year-old victim was approached and punched in the face unprovoked, police said.

Officials said that he suffered a minor injury to his left eye and was transported by medical personnel to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center.

The suspect, described by police as being six-feet-tall with a medium build and black hair, fled westbound on Linden Boulevard on foot.

He was last seen wearing a black face mask, a black long-sleeve shirt with white stripes, black pants, and black shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
