Vivid Seats is the New York Post’s official ticketing partner. We may receive revenue from this partnership for sharing this content and/or when you make a purchase.

On July 13-14, Buju Banton headlined two concerts — his first shows in the U.S. in 13 years — at Belmont Park, NY’s UBS Arena.

The day after that, the reggae and dancehall legend celebrated his 51st birthday and announced his first-ever North American arena trek, which he’s dubbed ‘The Overcomer Tour.’

From August through November, Banton will perform with special guest Fridayy at huge venues all over the country, including Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Sunday, Nov. 17.

And, while he will likely play the hits as well as tracks from his 2023 album “Born For Greatness” at all shows, be sure to expect the unexpected.

“My catalog is rather extensive, so to highlight one or two songs would be cheating a lot of people and will also be putting my foot in my mouth,” Banton shared in an interview with Billboard . “…I try to make the masses a part of what I am doing in whatever way I can. We also try to poll to find out what’s the favorite in each territory. It’s important. In modern times we have so much tools, back in the day we didn’t have all this at our fingertips. I want to do more.”

Plus, the “Hills and Valleys” singer is planning on a releasing a record that is “100% dancehall, hardcore roots reggae, something fi yuh skank on, fi di gyal dem bruk wild!” he claimed.

If this sounds like the show for you, Buju Banton tickets are available as soon as today.

Fans can purchase tickets for all upcoming ‘The Overcomer’ shows on sites like Vivid Seats ; the official on-sale is Friday, July 19.

    Buju Banton new music

On Sept. 8, 2023, Banton dropped his 12th studio album “Born for Greatness.”

Comprised of 17 tracks, the record is a showcase of Banton’s famous, raspy vocals and drum-heavy, tropical sound.

If you haven’t had the chance to listen yet, we suggest starting with the invigorating title track “Born for Greatness,” synth-heavy “Coconut Wata (Sip)” and sensual “Body Touching Body” featuring Victoria Monét.

Make sure to stay until the very end, too; that’s when Banton delivers the album’s standout “Let My People Go,” a protest anthem that is just as catchy as it is powerful.

    Buju Banton special guest

At all shows, thrice Grammy-nominated R&B singer-songwriter Fridayy will join Banton.

For those unfamiliar with the 24-year-old singer, give the heavy “Stand By Me,” head-banging bop “Friday” and soulful “When It Comes To You” a spin.
