4 people, including 2 young children, stabbed to death in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Police have a 24-year-old man in custody after four people, including a four-year-old boy and five-year-old girl, were found fatally stabbed in Brooklyn on Friday night.

Officers responded to a home in Bensonhurst, located at 1590 West Eighth Street near Avenue P, at 10:18 p.m. after receiving reports of an assault in progress.

Upon entering the home, the officers discovered a 56-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds to the neck. They moved further through the scene and found a 27-year-old woman and the two young children, who had also been stabbed to death.

EMS responded and pronounced all four victims dead at the scene, authorities said.

The victims were identified as Fayzieva Mavlyuda, 56; Maftuna Khakimova, 27; Kamila Shavkatova, 5, and Timur Shavkatov, 4.

Police identified Khakimova as the mother of both Kamila and Timur, and confirmed that Mavlyuda is the mother of the 24-year-old man who is in police custody for questioning.

All of the victims lived together in the West Eighth Street home where the murders took place, police said.

According to police sources, the quadruple homicide was the result of a domestic dispute.
