    Video: NYPD arrests man found asleep with a gun in his pants at Brooklyn subway station

    BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) — The NYPD released a video of officers arresting a man who fell asleep at a subway station in Brooklyn with a gun sticking out of his pants Sunday morning.

    The video released on X shows Lawrence Costa, 45, sleeping on the stairs of the Myrtle Avenue subway station around 6:40 a.m., according to officials. Police officers approach Costa on the stairs and ask him if he’s alright before he begins to stir, the video shows. One officer then quickly grabs the gun out of his waistband before he’s arrested.

    Police said Costa was arrested on the following charges:

    • Criminal possession in the second-degree
    • Criminal possession in the third-degree
    • Criminal possession in the fourth-degree
    • Local law violence
