    Hundreds of Verizon users report outage in NY: Downdetector

    NEW YORK (PIX11) — Hundreds of Verizon users in the tri-state area reported outages Tuesday for their cellphone service, according to Downdetector .

    The most reported locations include Poughkeepsie, Newburgh, New York City, and Brooklyn, according to the company’s website.

    Customers in Dutchess County also reported issues connecting to Verizon’s home internet , according to the Dutchess County Emergency Management Department.

    The outages were caused by a network disruption that began early Tuesday morning, according to Verizon. As a result, customers are experiencing limited data, voice, text, and wireless home internet service.

    The wireless network operator claims service restoration may take up to 22 hours.
