Slovakia's Nela Lopusanova said it, she wanted to play at the University of Wisconsin.

After her first full season in North America playing for the Bishop Kearney Selects, her dream is now a reality as Lopusanova has committed to play for the Wisconsin Badgers' women's hockey team.

The 16-year-old, 2008 born forward broke onto the international stage with a spectacular performance at the 2023 U-18 World Championships where she led the tournament in scoring, was named Best Forward, and tournament MVP. It was enough to earn the teenager a nomination for the 2023 IIHF Player of the Year Award.

Lopusanova moved to North America this season with Bishop Kearney and picked up where she left off. She was one of the top players in North America at the 19U level playing with powerhouse Bishop Kearney alongside some of the top NCAA committed players from the USA and abroad.

She follows in the footsteps of a number of Bishop Kearney standouts heading to Wisconsin including the 2023 USA Hockey Player of the Year Caroline Harvey, and the 2024 World Championship MVP and USA Hockey Player of the Year Laila Edwards.

This season Bishop Kearney were runners up in the 19U national championships falling 3-2 in the title game to Shattuck St. Mary's. Lopsanova led the tournament in scoring recording 14 points in only six games. From that championship game, her Bishop Kearney teammate Finley McCarthy is headed to Wisconsin next season, as is Shattuck captain Maggie Scannell.
