Maranatha Christian Academy softball has started its 2024 season in flying fashion, winning four consecutive conference games from April 10 to April 20.

The fun began when the Mustangs defeated St. Croix Prep 12-2 in a game full of hits for Maranatha and solid pitching from Ashley Yost and Katelyn Matheson. Two days later, Maranatha beat Concordia Academy 11-4 to add a second Skyline Conference win.

Maranatha kept it coming last week with an 8-0 shutout win over New Life Academy on April 15. Ellie Meissner hit two RBI, while Yost added 14 strikeouts to her impressive start to 2024.

Maranatha was then handed its first defeat of the season, falling 3-0 to Spectrum in non-conference action to adjust its overall record to 3-1. Spectrum has also started the season strong, collecting six consecutive victories.

With plenty of season left to play, it is still an exciting start to the season for the Mustangs. The team went 10-0 in conference play last season, winning the Skyline Conference before ending the 2023 season in the elimination bracket semifinals for Section 5AA.

Maranatha will travel to St. Croix Prep for a game on Friday, April 26.
