Nate Mercereau has announced a new album, Excellent Traveler. The multi-instrumentalist enlists a tour-de-force of players for his solo follow-up to 2021’s Sundays, with collaborators including André 3000 and Carlos Niño, as well as samples of his studio sessions with Shabaka Hutchings, Kamasi Washington, Laraaji, and many more. FENTANYL – “OR SO I TOUGHT,” “BLIND,” & “DETACHED”. Fentanyl is a new San Francisco hardcore band with members of Spiritual Cramp, Spy, and World Peace, and they make raw, fast, sometimes-powerviolencey hardcore songs that don’t use any distortion pedals, just the natural gain from turning their guitar amps all the way up. Their self-titled debut album comes out September 13 via Convulse Records, and three tracks are out now.
