The city of Atlanta is grappling with a new tragedy after the body of 35-year-old Chanell M. Crosby was discovered in a vehicle at the West End MARTA Station on Friday afternoon. Crosby, who had been reported missing earlier in the week, was identified by the Atlanta Police Department, according to a report by Atlanta News First. Lawrenceville house fire believed to be caused by arson, firefighters say
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A Lawrenceville house was badly damaged by fire Saturday night in what Gwinnett County officials believe to be an arson case. Savannah experienced heavy rainfall on Saturday, leading to streets flooding and abandoned vehicles throughout the city. Between 7 a.m. yesterday and 7 a.m. today, Coffee Bluff experienced 3.51 inches of rain ― the highest rain total of any area in Savannah during that time period, according to an email sent from Jonathan Lamb, meteorologist for the National Weather Service (NWS) Charleston Office.
Jackson launches automated utility meters pilot program
The city of Jackson will begin to test the use of automated utility meters by installing 54 water and 54 electric meters. Automated meters, or advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), is used to collect water and power usage data. This system eliminates the need for employees to visit the location of each customer to read water and utility meters for billing and other purposes.

One dead, one arrested after Saturday shooting in Oakwood
A man is facing murder charges after a shooting that killed a man in Oakwood Saturday afternoon. A release from the Oakwood Police Department Sunday said officers were called to a home on Aster Place in the Prescott neighborhood off of McEver Road just before 4:45 p.m. Saturday to a report of a shooting. When they got to the scene, they found a vehicle that had crashed into the rear of a home on nearby Wild Berry Court.
