    Great Oregon Steam-Up rolls into town

    BROOKS – The Great Oregon Steam-Up is rolling into Brooks for its annual show, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 27-28 and Aug. 3-4, at Powerland Heritage Park, 3995 Brooklake Road NE (Brooks I-5 exit 263).

    This 2024 edition of the Steam-Up marks its 54th year, as the family-friendly outing has officially donned an Oregon Heritage Tradition title and become a popular mid -Willamette Valley attraction for decades. Organizers said all 14 museums on the property will be open for the event.

    "The Great Oregon Steam-Up is more than just an event; it's a living, breathing showcase of our state's rich agricultural and industrial heritage," said Joe Tracy, marketing director for Powerland Heritage Park. "We're thrilled to offer families and history enthusiasts a chance to step back in time and experience the ingenuity of past generations."

    Some standing features include a daily parade of vintage steam tractors, fire engines, trucks, vintage cars, tractors, and other vehicles of interest. There are also a ton of activities for kids, including miniature train rides, trolley rides, a youth passport hunt, a firefighting challenge course, panning for gold, miniature train rides, trolley rides and a LEGO display.

    "Our recognition as an Oregon Heritage Tradition and our consecutive ' Best Annual Event ' awards reflect The Great Oregon Steam-Up's significance in preserving and celebrating our state's history,” said Michelle Duchateau, president of the Antique Powerland Museum Association. “We're proud to offer an educational and entertaining experience that resonates with visitors of all ages."
