FLINT, MI -- The body of a well-known Flint area runner was recovered by rescue crews Thursday afternoon, police said. Riley McLincha, 73, of Clio was found around noon Thursday, June 20, after he went overboard on his kayak near a barge at the Lagrange lock and dam in Brown County, Illinois.
Crews recover body of missing kayaker near La Grange Lock and Dam
Brown County, Ill. (KHQA) — The body of a kayaker who went missing Tuesday, June 18, at the La Grange Lock and Dam on the Illinois River has been recovered. According to the Brown County Emergency Management Department, the victim was recovered by a crew member on their way to the search area around 12:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon, June 20.

VERSAILLES, Ill. — The body of a Michigan man was found in the Illinois River on Thursday. Riley McLincha, 73, a male kayaker from Clio, Mich., went overboard on his kayak at approximately 11:46 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18, near a barge at the La Grange Lock and Dam near Versailles.
Searchers Recover Body of Missing Illinois River Kayaker
Search crews around LaGrange Lock & Dam have recovered the body of a kayaker who went missing Tuesday morning. Brown County Sheriff Justin Oliver says that 73-year old Riley McLincha of Clio, Michigan went overboard on his kayak near a barge at LaGrange Lock & Dam at 11:46AM Tuesday. The Brown County Sheriff’s Office along with several other regional agencies responded to the scene and began the search. McLincha is said to have been pulled under the barge in the lock chamber and was not wearing a life jacket.
