    John Clayton Stout, lifelong resident of Brown County, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at his residence with peace in his heart. He was born to the late Beryl and Mary Stout on August 15, 1937 with farming in his blood. John had an amazing memory and was extremely witty and sharp even till the morning of his departure. He recalled planting his crop at age 9 and prepared his last field of hay in June 2024. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and worked 30 years for Duke Energy as a lineman while also farming sometimes over 1,000 acres with his farming partner, Ralph Kissick. John was a faithful member of the Bible Baptist Church in Mt. Orab, Ohio, where he served for many years in the capacity of treasurer and deacon. He was best known for his contagious laugh, generous spirit and quiet wisdom. John had a love for John Deere tractors and raising cattle, but most of all, he loved his wife and family and even more than that, his Savior Jesus Christ. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister – Grace Murphy and one granddaughter – Ella Louise Stout.

    Mr. Stout is survived by his wife of 61 years – Dorothy “Dot” (Holbrook) Stout whom he married May 4, 1963; three children – Jonda (Gary) Fishman, Jeff (Ginger) Stout and Jeremy (Courtney) Stout; six grandchildren – Joshua Fishman and Keith, Taryn, Presley, Elyott and Judsyn Stout and one brother – Ray B. Stout.

    Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday, July 5, 2024 at the Bible Baptist Church in Mt. Orab, Ohio. Pastor Ted House will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Friday at the church. Private graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at the Fincastle Cemetery with military services by the Carey Bavis American Legion Post #180 of Georgetown, Ohio. The Cahall Funeral Home in Mt.Orab, Ohio is serving the family.
