ELECTION RESULTS: Hawkinson wins B-H School Board Election
In Tuesday’s Britton-Hecla School Board election, Josh Hawkinson of Britton was chosen by the district’s voters. Hawkinson came out on top of the other candidate, Marlin Heitmann of Lake City. The winner had 188 votes to Heitmann’s 83. Voter turnout averaged 11.5% across the two Marshall and Brown County precincts. Hawkinson will fill the three-year seat being vacated by Mandy Carlson. He formerly served on the board before taking a year off. All election results are considered unofficial until the canvas is conducted by the school board at their next meeting.
