Informational Meeting Held for Proposed Pipeline Through Brown County
An informal meeting to provide information about a proposed natural gas pipeline through Brown County was held Wednesday at the Adams Street Community Center. The pipeline will be known as the DeLa Express Project, and will be a 690-mile pipeline that will transport approximately 2-billion cubic feet per day of natural gas from the Delaware production basin in West Texas to demand markets in the Lake Charles, Louisiana area. The project proposes to use 42-inch diameter pipe, buried at least three feet below surface. There will also be nine compressor stations, which move the gas through the pipeline, including one in Brown County. In our area the pipeline will run west to east through Coleman County (just south of Coleman and Santa Anna), Brown County (south of Bangs and just south of Brownwood), and across the northern portion of Mills County.

About seven years ago, when Manuel DeLeon was a teenager, his older brother Isaiah passed away. “Before he passed away, I wasn’t really a good kid in school,” DeLeon said. “I was failing my grades and getting in trouble. After he passed away, I started acting better, getting good grades and being on top of my classes, and [now] he’s still one of the reasons why I go to work every night.”
Early City Council approves interlocal cooperation agreement between Early, Comanche police
During Tuesday night’s meeting, the Early City Council approved entering into an interlocal cooperation agreement between the Early and Comanche Police Departments. The agreement mirrors mutual aid between fire departments, no money will change hands, and Early will receive use of Comanche’s K-9 unit and License Plate Reader.
