Vietnam war soldier killed on rescue mission honored with memorial scholarship fund
SHOREWOOD, Wis. — There is a new effort to honor a soldier from Shorewood, killed during the Vietnam War with a memorial scholarship fund. Michael O'Donnell died in Cambodia in 1970. His high school classmate is raising money to start the scholarship in O'Donnell's name at Shorewood High School.

Woodchucks Drop Decision to Chinooks
Mequon, WI – The Woodchucks fall in game one of the away series to the Chinooks, 7-9. It is just their sixth loss of the season. The Chucks got to work early, as they scored two runs in the top of the first. Drew Berkland (Minnesota) reached base on a single, bringing Max Galvin (Miami) to the plate. Galvin launched one to right field to take the lead 2-0, tying with Drew Berkland for four home runs on the season.
7/6/24 FDL County High Speed Pursuit
The pursuit of a 32-year-old Fond du Lac man who sped through a stop sign on Fond du Lac County Highway B Friday night took a Sheriff’s deputy into Washington County. A maneuver was used on Interstate 41 near Slinger to try and stop the suspect’s vehicle, but he was able to regain control and get back onto the highway. He continued heading south. Washington County Sheriff’s deputies and Germantown Police then successfully deployed tire deflation devices. In trying to avoid them the driver tried to exit the highway on County Line Road and lost control driving into a ditch where the vehicle became disabled. A passenger ran from the vehicle but was taken into custody by a State Trooper. The Fond du Lac man who was driving the vehicle is facing felony charges and the passenger, a convicted felon, was wanted on a nationwide warrant by Probation and Parole. He is also charged with resisting or obstructing. The pursuit lasted approximately 41 miles.
