Brewers spurning Yankees in Corbin Burnes trade wasn't so ridiculous after all
Prying Brewers ace Corbin Burnes loose this offseason felt like a pipe dream -- until the Baltimore Orioles did it. Even with one year left to go before Burnes, angered by Brewers brass in his pre-2023 arbitration hearing, tested the free agent market and likely departed, this was an NL Central favorite shucking a Cy Young out of their rotation following the loss of Brandon Woodruff. No wonder they asked the Yankees for Spencer Jones, we all scoffed. They weren't serious about moving Burnes unless they could rip the Bombers off in the process.

Half of voters believed prosecuting Trump was the right thing to do, versus 42% who did not and 8% undecided. However, opinions still fell largely among party lines, with Independents split. ...

The Brewers Can Optimize Aaron Civale by Emphasizing Pitchability
The Brewers traded for a starter for a second time in two weeks when they acquired Aaron Civale from the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday. The right-hander's debut with his new club was a mixed bag — he tied a season-high with eight strikeouts but allowed three home runs in five innings — but the hope is that he can be a stable source of effective innings for an injury-ravaged rotation.
50/50 weekend setup with Saturday Sun & Sunday Showers, Storms
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58)--Not a bad way to close out Summerfest this year. Expect a fair amount of sun on Saturday. A lake breeze will set up, so temps could slide during the afternoon along the immediate lakeshore. Highs will be in the 70s. Sunday looks more unsettled with a storm system moving in from the west. A scattering of showers and storms can be expected. You can take this forecast and extend it right into Monday and Tuesday. We see a pattern chance by midweek. Look for drier conditions then along with highs mainly in the 80s.
