Cuyahoga County, OH. - It's the race for the Ohio House District 21 seat.

Elliot Forhan (an attorney by trade), the incumbent, pleads to constituents - "Let's keep the momentum going. Forhan's mantra is "The Courage to Lead. The Courage We Deserve."

Recently, State Representative Forhan appeared on the Little Hut Podcast. The live podcast is a weekly show aired on Friday evenings at 8 pm by Brown on Cleveland and hosted by Kimberly F. Brown. The Little Hut Podcast discusses community issues, human interest stories, and local politics.

Forhan is fighting to retain the seat. He has two competitors, Angel Washington and Eric Synenberg.

Forhan, no stranger to media outlets, has been in the news for his strong and aggressive tone towards others. Last year, a constituent accused him of being verbally aggressive. Forhan said that he is compassionate about issues. "The same person (Ladosha Wright) who accused me of being verbally aggressive last year supports my candidacy for re-election. I have lots of respect for her. We are working on a Bill together. It's about haircare and the texture of one's hair. She's a professional stylist, and I understand the concern and how this issue impacts members of District 21. We have a good relationship working well together. I asked for her endorsement, and she said yes. Here we are," says Forhan. Brown was eager to hear from Ms. Wright, but she could not attend the program.

Forhan has been the State Representative for Ohio House District 21 for two years. His literature reads, "In his first two years in office, progressive Democrat Elliott Forhan has stood up to political bosses and put residents first. He's repeatedly proven that he's not afraid to stand up for us." Forhan touts that he stood up for the residents of the Beachland community. "I was there when no one else was there. Yes, I get involved with matters important to constituents."

Forhan also reminded listeners about the defeat of Ohio's Issue 1Forhan also reminded listeners about the defeat of Ohio's Issue 1, which was on the ballot last August for a special election. In an August 9, 2023 press release, Forhan press staff wrote, "The majority of Ohioans yesterday made the correct choice to protect majority rule in our state and the ability to determine our future. Due to redistricting, gerrymandering, and an unresponsive supermajority, the majority of Ohioans have gone unheard, thus making citizen-initiated constitutional amendments the only remaining option to enact commonsense policies and reform. I stand proudly with the 57% of Ohioans who said NO on Issue 1," Forhan's press release stated. Forhan also informed The Little Hut listeners that he is looking into the Notre Dame College situation. The college is scheduled to close.

Forhan's Campaign Material is Bold; Upsetting to Others

Last week, Mayor Georgine Welo of South Euclid had become disgusted with State Representative Forhan. She verbally spoke out on a live paid-for ad on social media's Facebook channel. Welo accused Forhan of telling untruths about challenger and Candidate Eric Synenberg. "I stand by what I mailed to voters. Everything on the mailer is true. Mayor Welo can't prove any wrongdoing or mishaps about my mailer," stated Forhan. The mailer alleges that Synenberg is an attorney who works for his father's law firm and that the firm supports child pornographers and rapists. The mailer also claims that after the mailers were mailed, the law firm removed several posts about testimonials of how the law firm allegedly helped their clients attain reduced sentences for their behaviors. The mailer appears to have ruffled several feathers. "I won't print anything untrue; the public has a right to know," stated Forhan.

State Representative Forhan said he is in the race to win and retain the seat. His focus:

    • Restore Reproductive Freedom
    • Enact Common -Sense Gun Control
    • Raise the Minimum Wage to $15.oo per hour
    • End Gerrymandering

"We must protect our working-class families and democratic values and support our communities, stated Forhan.

The primary election is on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. The polls open at 6:30 am.
