Engineering Report Finds Only Top Floor of Hotel Marysville at Risk of Falling
MARYSVILLE, CA (MPG) - Only the top floor of the five-story Hotel Marysville presents a significant fall hazard and traffic could safely be restored to the two southbound lanes of Highway 70 if a 10-foot-high debris catch-barrier is erected, according to an engineering report received Tuesday by the City of Marysville.

Zumwalt took over for former head coach Mike Meyer as he resigned from his position in May due to personal reasons. 50 people arrested or cited in Sacramento-area Target retail theft operation
NORTH HIGHLANDS — A recent law enforcement retail theft operation at a Target store in Sacramento County led to 50 people being arrested or cited, authorities said Thursday.The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said it conducted the operation with Target asset protection specialists at the retailer's store on Madison Avenue in North Highlands last weekend.Plain-clothed sheriff's detectives and the Target specialists surveyed dozens of thieves inside and outside the business.Of the 50 people arrested or cited, the sheriff's office said nine were minors. Four already had outstanding warrants and were booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail. Two suspects were detained after leading law enforcement officials on a foot chase.Target and law enforcement previously worked to clean up another crime-ridden store in the Sacramento area.CBS Sacramento recently learned that the city attorney's office drafted a letter, which was never sent, warning about a charge of a nuisance violation against Target relating to their store on Riverside Boulevard. Since then, Target added security, lighting, and locked down merchandise.With the North Highlands operation, it was unclear how much merchandise was stolen and if all of it was recovered.

SACRAMENTO – A longtime Land Park area restaurant that once got national recognition will be saying goodbye at the end of the month. In a Facebook post on Wednesday, the owners of Dad's Kitchen announced that their Freeport Boulevard location will be closing for good on Sunday, July 28. "We have so much gratitude for the last 14 amazing years in this location but it is time to close the doors," the restaurant's owners wrote. No specific reason has been given for the restaurant's impending closure.Food Network star Guy Fieri featured Dad's Kitchen in a 2011 segment on "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives." It was one of a handful of Sacramento-area restaurants to be featured on the show. Dad's Kitchen says its last two weeks in business will be a celebration of the restaurant.
