Overrun with animals, Huntsville Animal Services plea: ‘Sad reality is we aren’t a no-kill shelter’
Huntsville Animal Services is sending out a plea for residents to adopt or foster animals at its overcrowded shelter on Triana Boulevard. Currently, the shelter is accommodating nearly 200 dogs and cats of various ages, putting significant emotional strain on animals. In previous interviews with the Huntsville Times, Animal Services officials said the shelter can normally comfortably handle between 40 and 60 dogs.

Mark Porter and Grace Gosline claimed top honors in the 16th annual Twilight 5K Saturday evening on the University of Alabama-Huntsville campus. Porter, of Colorado Springs, Col., won the race in 17:15 with a pace of 5:34 per mile. Cullman City Council approves purchase of historic church for future Community Theatre
CULLMAN, Ala. – In a significant move to enhance the cultural and performing arts landscape of Cullman, the Cullman City Council on Monday, July 22, 2024, approved the purchase of the historic First United Pentecostal Church building, located at the corner of Third Avenue Northeast and Clark Street Northeast, behind Cullman City Hall.
