Texas-based company Reconext expanding to Memphis, adding 161 jobs
A Texas-based electronics manufacturer is expanding its operation to Memphis. On Wednesday, the Economic Development Growth Engine for Memphis and Shelby County (EDGE) approved a 10-year payment-in-lieu-of-taxes (PILOT) for Reconext Tennessee LLC. Reconext is based in Grapevine, Texas, and the new LLC is the company's first footprint in the Volunteer State.

Attorneys have petitioned the court to seal the case against the man accused of killing a missing University of Mississippi graduate whose body has never been found. Prosecutors and defense attorneys have petitioned the Lafayette County Circuit Court to seal the case against Sheldon “Timothy” Herrington Jr., who was arrested on July 22, 2022, and charged with killing Jimmy “Jay” Lee in 2022. Firework-wielding man turns himself in after blast injures gas station employees, records show
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - An 18-year-old turned himself in after he was wanted for throwing a firework into a Parkway Village gas station, injuring two employees, records show. Jarquivous Jones, of Memphis, was charged with aggravated arson, reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon/explosive and vandalism, according to the Memphis Police Department. Records show that no bond had been set for him.
