Weekend Forecast: 90s continue with even warmer temperatures looming next week
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Enjoying these dog days of summer yet? If so, the weather center applauds you and if not, brace yourself because the heat is not exiting anytime soon. Not only is it not exiting, but the heat intensifies by the middle of next week with a couple days potentially climbing into the triple digits. Very little change in the forecast Saturday with temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s in central and eastern Nebraska. Mid to upper 90s in western Nebraska are likely once again as well.

Ogallala Fire Department reports active day
OGALLALA -- At 6:06 a.m. July 25, the Ogallala Fire Department responded to a county-wide page of a working structure fire in the Ogallala city limits. The structure fire was a detached multi-bay garage. On arrival, firefighters found the fire had self-vented through an exterior wall and roof. Firefighters extinguished the main fire and overhauled the structure.

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) -We will end the day Friday with quiet and mild temperatures with hot and mainly sunny skies as we head into the weekend and into next week. As our high pressure resides over the area, this will allow for conditions to remain quiet across the area. Overnight Friday, we will see temperatures drop into the 60s and 70s with calm conditions and winds on the breezy winds of 10 to 15 mph.

MO Lawsuits Accuse Catholic Leadership Of Abuse; Omaha Archbishop Implicated
Sixty people allege in new lawsuits filed in Missouri that they were abused as children by dozens of Catholic priests, nuns and others, and the man who now leads the Archdiocese of Omaha, Nebraska, is among the accused. Five separate lawsuits seeking unspecified damages were filed this week in St. Louis and neighboring counties. All told, the lawsuits name 56 alleged abusers. Among those named is Omaha Archbishop George Lucas. He is accused of abusing a teenage boy at St. Louis Preparatory Seminary in the late 1980s. Lucas strongly denies the allegations, saying in a statement that he has never had sexual contact with another person.
