    Brundidge Independence Day celebration last Saturday in June

    The Brundidge Independence Day Parade is traditionally held the last Saturday before the Fourth of July.

    The city’s 2024 Independence Day festivities, which include a patriotic parade and fireworks display, will be on Saturday, June 29.

    The Independence Day Parade will get the day’s activities off to patriotic start at 1 p.m. with the fireworks display at nightfall around 8 p.m.

    The parade line-up will be at 12 noon on Veterans Boulevard on the north side of town.

    Laterah Baxter, Brundidge Business Association, said everyone is invited to participate in the annual Independence Day Parade or show their patriotism and love of country as spectators. There is no registration requirement to enter the parade; just come and enjoy the experience.

    Baxter said the parade will follow a Main Street route and the downtown merchants have been encouraged to be open before and after the parade to provide shopping opportunities.

    The fireworks display will be at nightfall and can best be viewed from the Pike County High School gymnasium parking lot. The fireworks display can also be viewed from various locations south of the downtown area.

    The Brundidge Independence Day Parade is sponsored annually by the City of Brundidge and the Brundidge Business Association. The City of Brundidge is the sponsor of the Fourth of July fireworks display.
