Brunswick’s Board of Appeals has explained why it denied two residents’ appeals of the Planning and Zoning Department’s approval of the site plan for a two-story multifamily apartment property.

The development, planned for the site of the former Moose Lodge — a fraternal organization and social club — at 401 E. Potomac St., has drawn criticism from several residents. Residents cite privacy and increased traffic as a result of up to 16 new apartment units as some of their main concerns.
