Secret Sale: United offering $31.40 Fares to Celebrate Pi Day

    2021-03-14

Don't sleep on this one, because it's only being offered for a matter of hours.

Happy Pi Day, the famous March 14 holiday that got its name thanks to the numerical value of the date being 3.14! To celebrate, United is taking advantage of the unofficial holiday with a semi-secret flash sale on airfare to and from some of the most popular destinations.

    United

From today, March 14 through Monday, March 15 United will offer one-way fares as low as $31.40 or 3,140 miles (plus taxes and fees starting at $5.60) to celebrate Pi Day.

Some important details to know: the steeply-discounted fares are for one-way domestic United States travel on basic economy, are valid for travel from March 28 through June 5, 2021, and span a wide list of American cities that can be found here.

With American vaccine supply and access increasing by the minute, lots of people are itching to travel again -- even if not far flung. "I can't wait to travel home to see my parents for the first time in a year and a half," says Jessica D., a 31-year old nurse who was vaccinated nearly three months ago, but has been waiting for both late-60s parents to receive both doses of their own Pfizer vaccines. "I'm not looking to trek to the Himalayas, I just want to travel a few states away to see my parents because I miss them so much and have been worried about them. Hearing about a flight sale like this is really exciting. Other than seeing my parents for a week or so, I'll still be mostly home and staying responsible till the pandemic seems to be calming down."
