Buckeye earns national accreditation for multiple departments

Buckeye’s development services, engineering, and water resources departments each received full accreditation by the American Public Works Association.

The accreditation formally verifies and recognizes that Buckeye is in full compliance with the recommended management practices set forth by APWA, a city press release states.

The purpose of accreditation is to promote excellence in the operation and management of a public works agency, its programs, and employees. This process not only reinforces each department's commitment to improvement but also aligns it with emerging practices and industry standards.

Buckeye now has four departments fully accredited by APWA. The public works department received its accreditation in September of last year.

APWA’s accreditation process includes five major steps: self-assessment, application, improvement, evaluation, and accreditation.
