Potentially severe storms on their way to NCWV once again
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - Good Morning NCWV! The weather for today and tomorrow is quite nice, with mostly clear skies expected throughout most of our area! High temperatures are on the rise for today and tomorrow as well with highs reaching up to the low 90s in the lowlands and the mid 80s in the higher elevations. Unfortunately, these conditions won’t hold off for the 4th of July, a frontal system is on its way, bringing rain showers and storms back into NCWV. These conditions will persist throughout most of the day on the 4th with rainfall amounts potentially reaching an inch of rainfall, more likely amounts however are closer to a half an inch. Potential for severity with these storms is present with gusty winds being the biggest threat, reaching up to 35MPH in the more mountainous regions. Temperatures will also take a slight drop, getting into the mid 80s in the lowlands and the mid 70s in the higher elevations. Daniel Niemasz has all of this and more on your First Alert Forecast.

Haller was voted the MEC Freshman of the Year, voted 1st team All Conference, 2nd team All Region, and named as a CSE All American; all in her freshman year. While it was a phenomenal season for Haller both as an individual as well as team success, she’s not letting that stop her from sharing the tools to her success, with the local community. Throughout the remainder of the summer Delaney will be hosting softball pitching lessons, at Gorilla Strength and Fitness located at the Meadowbrook Mall. In hopes of sharing some of the knowledge and expertise of what it takes to become a dominant pitcher.
Bigfoot Festival brings thousands to Sutton
For three days, Bigfoot and other West Virginia Cryptids dot the grounds of Holly-Gray Park at the fourth annual Bigfoot Festival hosted by the Bigfoot Museum in Sutton, West Virginia. At the forefront of the festival, Laurel Petolicchio, owner of the Bigfoot Museum, is confident in another huge turnout this year.

Health center to develop programs to fight WV food insecurity
A West Virginia community health center is participating in a program addressing food scarcity. The National Association of Community Health Centers’ 2024 Innovation Incubator creates ways to expand access to healthy foods. Cabin Creek Health Systems, based in Charleston, will have funding and guidance from experts to help it design and test community-based solutions.

Mountain State Art & Craft Fair to celebrate Appalachian culture through arts, food, music
RIPLEY — The 2024 Mountain State Art and Craft Fair showcases juried artisans, live music, heritage demonstrations and food from throughout West Virginia and Appalachia. The MSACF is taking place Thursday through Sunday at Cedar Lakes Conference Center near Ripley from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. daily. Admission is $7 daily with seniors over 55 and children ages 3-11 admitted for $5. There are acres of free parking available.
Shinnston looks to beautify its downtown
SHINNSTON W.Va (WDTV) -The city of Shinnston will be looking a little different soon. The Lincoln High School DECA club, along with the city and other groups, have plans to make their city look nicer. A mural has already been painted, and planners say big things are still coming for Shinnston’s downtown.
