Artist paints town of Lee for 50 murals in 50 states project
LEE, Mass. – Wearing paint-speckled pants on Main Street in Lee, Cheyenne Renee was spending a summer day painting a mural. Her goal is to have a mural in 50 small towns across every state as part of her "50-in-50 Project," which combines her love for art and travel while highlighting small towns and businesses across the country.
Berkshire Humane Waives Dog Adoption Fees Through Sunday
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Berkshire Humane Society has waived adoption fees of dogs who are at least one year old from Monday through Sunday this week. The promotion, called "Mass-Saves," is the first event of a statewide coalition led by MSPCA-Angell. Other shelters in the coalition funded by Best Friends Animal Society include Worcester Animal Rescue League, Boston Animal Control, Thomas J. O'Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center and Dakin Humane Society. The shelters will work together to improve and save lives of animals.

EPA Awards UMass Amherst nearly $6.4 Million to Help Shrink the Steel Industry’s Carbon Footprint
Amherst - The building and construction industry accounts for 37% of global greenhouse emissions and the steel production process can be a significant contributor to these emissions. To steer the industry in a new direction, the University of Massachusetts Amherst has been selected to lead a $6.37 million five-year grant by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Dragon Boat Festival to mark 10th year on Connecticut River in Springfield
