They fell into disrepair as the number of reporters registered to cover the Legislature full time fell from 30 in 1987 to only six today. It did not, in fact, make news when they were reduced to parking lots.

Man walks into Central District clinic with 'multiple machete slash wounds'
SEATTLE — A 35-year-old man walked into a Central District clinic with multiple machete slash wounds on Thursday evening, the Seattle Police Department said. The man walked into the clinic on the 2100 block of East Yesler Way shortly after 6:30 p.m. with "multiple slash wounds to both arms and head," police said. Aid was provided by the Seattle Fire Department and the man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in "serious condition," police added.
This Washington Fire Year Really Isn’t Easy!
Current Situation: The Easy Fire is burning through dense timber, dead trees, and ground vegetation on very steep terrain. Activity near State Route 20 has moderated, but there is still fire within the north and south sides of the perimeter. Firefighters, in collaboration with the Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT), have been clearing debris and fallen trees from the highway.
