The Pennsylvania Democratic Party is launching its “Pants of Fire Tour” holding Dave McCormick accountable as the race for U.S. Senate heats up. The tour will host a series of events “holding David McCormick accountable for his lies.”

The tour will include the “Pants on Fire Brigade” and “Pants on Fire” fire trucks traveling across the state highlighting McCormick’s record of dishonesty.

TaNisha Cameron, a spokesperson for the Pennsylvania Democratic Party, said McCormick has been lying about where he lives, his real plan to ban abortion, and his record on investing in Chinese military companies and fentanyl manufacturers.

“David McCormick’s pants are on fire from all the lies he’s told Pennsylvanians, and it’s past time for McCormick to take accountability for his dishonesty,” said Cameron.

McCormick claims his abortion stance makes exceptions for rape, incest and life of the mother, yet he called the leaked Supreme Court opinion overturning Roe a “huge victory” and prior to the Dobbs decision, said he would be a “stalwart opponent of abortion.”

McCormick was asked about his stance on exceptions for abortion including rape, incest and life of the mother during the Pennsylvania Republican Primary Debate in 2022 . McCormick said he believed in exceptions for abortion only “in the very rare instances there should be exceptions for life of the mother.”

During his race against Mehmet Oz for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate, McCormick called out Oz for living in New Jersey, but McCormick’s own Pennsylvania residency is questionable.

McCormick owns a home in Pittsburgh and a family farm in Bloomsburg, but flight records show McCormick commuting via private plane from his $16 million rental in Bridgewater, Connecticut to campaign events in Pennsylvania.

His campaign opposes China’s “free rein” and vows to prevent fentanyl from “ravaging communities,” but PA Democrats are calling out McCormick’s involvement in investing in Chinese military companies during his time as CEO of Bridgewater Associates.

“As CEO of Bridgewater, McCormick also increased investments in China by 108,000% , including in blacklisted Chinese companies with ties to the Chinese military,” they said.

PA Democrats also took aim at McCormick eliminating and outsourcing jobs to China and India as CEO of FreeMarkets, a global software company. McCormick claims to be a “job creator” on his own social media accounts, but laid off almost 200 hundred employees from FreeMarkets after becoming CEO.

The tour kicks off Wednesday, Sept. 25, in Philadelphia. PA Democratic Party Chair Sharif Street, State Senator Vincent Hughes, and Philadelphia City Council members Rue Landau, Mike Driscoll, and Jim Harrity will host a press conference further discussing how McCormick has deceived Pennsylvania voters.
