Georgine's still open, as owners look for right buyer to keep the Bristol business going

Georgine’s may be for sale, but the longtime family-owned restaurant is still open and booking future events.

That’s the message its owners keep pushing as they continue to seek offers for their fine dining restaurant in Bristol Township, where they hope to find a buyer to keep the 47-year-old business running for many more years to come.

“We’re looking to keep the Georgine’s tradition going,” said executive chef Dave Reifsneider, who co-owns the business with one of its original founders, Michael Nagle, and runs it alongside their spouses, Rosie Reifsneider and Kim Nagle.

Despite their hopes of retiring in the near future, he said the desire to ensure Georgine’s continued success is a priority.

“It’s up for sale to the right buyer, otherwise we’re really happy to keep going like this. I still love coming into the kitchen, my partner still loves coming in. The only way we’re selling is to the right buyer,” Reifsneider said.

With an asking price of $3.8 million, the real estate listing for Georgine’s touts a “turn-key operation” calling it an “opportunity of a lifetime for an experienced and successful restauranteur.”

The sale includes the 12,000-square foot main restaurant building — with its bar, lounge area, dining room and banquet halls — a separate 1,500-square foot takeout building and more than three acres of parking.

But it will take more than money to convince its current owners to sign the business over, they said in a letter posted to the restaurant’s Facebook page in April.

“Our goal is to find someone who has the same passion to keep the same concerns for our customers, providing quality food and service at a good value,” the letter read in part. “We also want someone who will give our hardworking staff the security that even though Georgine’s will be under new ownership, they can depend on keeping their job.”

In the meantime, Georgine’s offerings remain unchanged, said Reifsneider, from its restaurant and comedy shows to its weddings and other private events.

“We get calls all the time from people asking if we’re still open. The rumors are out there, but not one thing has changed,” he said. “Everything that we’ve been doing is still intact. The dining room is still great, the banquets are still going strong and people are still booking events.”
