    Find a fur-ever friend. 'Clear the Shelters' pet adoption events set for Bensalem

    Looking for a purr-fect furever friend?

    Bingo’s Foundation , a Bucks County cat rescue and shelter organization, and the Women's Animal Center in Bensalem are both holding adoption events as part of the “Clear the Shelters” national campaign on Sept. 7.

    On this day both organizations are waiving their normal fees to encourage adoption of their animals.

    The Bingo's Foundation will be at at VCA Neshaminy from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the veterinary office at 4197 East Bristol Road in Trevose.  There will also be items for sale available and shelter cats available for adoption.

    All money raised by the organization goes toward shelter and rescue operations including medical care and supplies.

    Interested adopters are asked to complete an online application proces s available on the organization’s website at https://bingosfoundation.org/adopt/ no later than Sept. 5.

    Bingo’s Foundation is a 501c3 registered nonprofit all-volunteer, no kill cat adoption and rescue organization operating in Bucks County since 2001. It opened Bingo’s Bungalow as its shelter in 2007. Volunteers provide food, medicine, socialization to abandoned and homeless cats in Lower Bucks County.

    The Women's Animal Center will have cats, dogs and other small animals available for adoption at is shelter located at 3839 Richlieu Road. . All pets adopted through the organization are spayed or neutered, microchipped and vaccinated, according to a press release.

    Potential adopters should visit the Women's Animal Center’s website adoption page (https://womensanimalcenter.org/our-animal-shelter/adoption-process-fees) for information about theprocess and what to expect.

    As part of the nationwide initiative, NBC and Telemundo stations partner with animal shelters and rescues in their communities to promote pet adoption and raise funds for participating shelters and rescues.

    Since its inception in 2015, Clear The Shelters has helped more than one million pets find new homes and raised millions of dollars for participating shelters and rescues.

    The 2024 “Clear the Shelters” pet adoption drive runs through Sept. 10.
